I was in Indro's car on the way to Shayne & Elise's house warming on sat night when I passed the shop where i bought my wedding dress. It had great white letters on the windows "Closing Down Sale!! Everything MUST Go!" Gaah! My dress is still stashed with them!! Where was my courtesy phone call??
Linze Bridal (LB): " Oh Hi, It's Linze Bridal, we were wondering if you'd like to pick up your dress?"
Me: " Err, Okaaay, I had planned for you to alter the dress first, and it is a bit early for it..Is anything wrong?"
LB: "Oh no....nothing's wrong at all, just perhaps this tiny detail...weareclosingdown"
Me: "Beg your pardon?"
LB: "We are closing down"
(face palm)
and they are not open on Sundays or Mondays (i think) I'm trying not to freak out.... Breathe Liza, breathe.... you can always wear your Gogo Yubari costume from 3 Halloweens ago...
edit: I called LB today and they advised they are not closing down, but moving to Beaumaris..phew!
I love beautiful stationery. The myriad designs, textures and colours really does it for me :). Browsing for wedding invitations on the internet just blew my mind! There were so many choices and price ranges. It quickly became a chore, trying to decide on the type of invitations we wanted. Correction, I wanted, as Simon left the decision making to me.
I knew I wanted something that was elegant and simple, more of a tactile invite than a visual one. I fell in love with letterpress printing. It's an old skool printing process that involves a raised print block, that's inked and pressed into the paper, resulting in the design imprinted onto cotton paper.
I found a little place near where I live called Chapel Press. They produce the most gorgeous tactile stationery designs. Simon was all for it and I can't wait for my guests to receive the invites, to treasure them and have as a keepsake of the wedding.
In case you're asking yourself where Liza & Simon are getting married, today's your lucky day. Located in the outskirts of Melbourne, Morning Star Estate is a pretty vineyard with a beautiful rose garden and stunning views of Port Phillip Bay.
I've passed this venue on the way to Marie & Martin's place (Simon's parents) a million times and you can see a tall, rusty shard plunged into part of the land, reaching for the sky. I've always been interested in the winery since the first time i saw that shard.
And when hunting for wedding venue locations that was convenient to get to and pretty, Morning Star Estate ticked all the boxes. And I know that my dear ah mah (grandma) will just love all the roses that will be in bloom then.
The ceremony and reception will be held at Morning Star Estate, as those who know me well will agree, I hate rushing around, especially in a long dress... I'm klutzy enough, thank you very much :P, and I think that the gardens and vineyard will make for very pretty photos.
